Laird PLC was founded in 1824 in Birmingham, England, as the first company to successful produce high-quality malleable iron. The company quickly rose in prominence, and by 1918 had acquired 80 global affiliates and had become one of the world’s leading manufacturers of engineering materials. In the 1990s, Laird entered the electronics industry and acquired a number of major operations in the space, becoming one of the leading suppliers of mobile device and other connectivity solutions.
