History

Laybuy was founded in 2018 by Alex Tamati and Gary Rohloff. The idea for the company grew out of a desire to make buying easier and more affordable for everyone. With the advent of digital banking, Laybuy saw the potential to revolutionize the payments industry and make it more accessible for all Kiwis. They launched their online platform, offering shoppers the ability to purchase goods and pay for them over six weeks. Laybuy quickly became a popular alternative to traditional payment methods and gained in popularity throughout New Zealand.
