Madhav Jha

Madhav Jha is a technology professional and co-founder of Emergent Labs, where he serves as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Madhav’s career continued to advance as he took on roles such as Senior Software Engineer at Zenefits, where he worked on bi-directional sync integration between Zenefits and third-party systems.
 

Madhav’s career further progressed with roles at Amazon, where he worked as an Applied Scientist, followed by Senior Software Engineer at Mixpanel and Sigma Computing. He is currently a Machine Learning Engineer at Dropbox, where he has been working for the past four years.

Madhav Jha was born in India and developed an early interest in technology and computer science. He pursued his undergraduate studies at the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi, where he earned a B.Tech in Computer Science from 2004 to 2008. 

Following his undergraduate education, Madhav moved to the United States to further his academic career, enrolling at Penn State University. He completed his PhD in Computer Science from 2008 to 2013, where he focused on areas of machine learning, algorithms, and data analysis.
 

After completing his PhD, Madhav began his professional career in the tech industry. In 2011, he joined Google as a Software Engineering Intern, where he worked on statistical analysis related to Google Account Recovery. His time at Google gave him a solid foundation in software development and data analysis.
 

Madhav then took a role at Sandia National Laboratories as a Research Intern in 2012, where he focused on streaming algorithms for estimating triangle counts in large graphs. He furthered his career at Sandia, taking on a full-time position as a Postdoctoral Researcher from July 2013 to November 2014. His work during this period involved developing and analysing algorithms for massive graphs, particularly those based on streaming and sampling.
 

In late 2014, Madhav joined Zenefits as a Senior Software Engineer, where he contributed to the integration of Zenefits with third-party systems. His role involved ensuring smooth data synchronisation between Zenefits and external systems. In 2017, he moved to Amazon as an Applied Scientist, where he worked for almost three years, from January 2017 to September 2019, focusing on data-driven projects within the company.
 

After his time at Amazon, Madhav worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Mixpanel from September 2019 to May 2020. He then took a similar role at Sigma Computing, where he worked as a Senior Software Engineer from July 2020 to September 2021. In these positions, Madhav contributed to the development of scalable software solutions, primarily in the machine learning and data analysis domains.
 

In 2021, Madhav joined Dropbox as a Machine Learning Engineer, where he has been working for the past four years. His work at Dropbox involves applying machine learning to large-scale data projects, further solidifying his expertise in the field.
