MCF was incorporated on 25th October, 1973 as a public limited company and the commercial production commenced on 26th February, 1976. The company was promoted by M/s. The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT), a Government of India Undertaking. With 30.93 percent stake, FACT is the single largest shareholder in MCF.
