Matt Hawkins is a tech entrepreneur with extensive experience in cloud computing, AI, renewable energy, and blockchain. He is the CEO and Founder of Cudo, a company dedicated to providing access to sustainable cloud infrastructure and renewable energy solutions. Cudo’s platforms aim to make cloud computing more economical, efficient, and sustainable. Under his leadership, Cudo has scaled globally, reaching nearly 1 million users across 145 countries. The company focuses on enabling businesses to monetise their IT infrastructure while supporting sustainability and reducing carbon emissions.
 

Prior to Cudo, Matt founded C4L, one of the fastest-growing ISPs in the UK. C4L won numerous awards, including the Times Tech Track 100, Deloitte UK Top 50, and Deloitte EMEA Fast 500. The company was responsible for approximately 1% of the UK’s internet infrastructure, providing services to government bodies, FTSE 250 companies, ISPs, resellers, and SMBs. C4L was acquired by CORETX, where Matt continued his leadership role as Chief Technical Officer.

Before his involvement with C4L, Matt also worked as Managing Director at Revenue Makers, a company focused on affiliate marketing, where he helped grow the user base by 1000% in just one year. He went on to become Business Development Director at UK Affiliates.
 

Matt later became Founder & Managing Director of MiMiC Group, where he focused on developing technology solutions related to network performance, renewable energy, and traditional infrastructure services. The company aimed to improve network deployment times, lower costs, and offer energy solutions using untapped renewable sources.

In addition to his entrepreneurial ventures, Matt is involved in mentoring young entrepreneurs. He has served as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Bournemouth University, helping students maximise their business potential. He is also an advisor at Barclays Eagle Lab.

The platform provides significant cost savings compared to hyperscale providers, offering up to 80% savings by simplifying access to a broader pool of high-powered computing and distributed resources at the edge. Additionally, CudoCompute allows customers to sell unused capacity on the network and offer access to charities.

Matt is also the CEO of CUDOS, a decentralised cloud blockchain powered by Cudo, which bridges the gap between cloud computing and blockchain technology. CUDOS offers up to 10 times more cost-effective computing through its platform, which is used by organisations in video rendering, medical research, and more. The platform is supported by the CUDOS Token and has attracted a wide range of clients, including charities and carbon-neutral platforms.
 

Before founding Cudo and its associated platforms, Matt founded MiMiC Group, a company focused on improving network performance, renewable energy, and infrastructure services. MiMiC developed its own technology and invested in innovative companies, with a particular focus on enhancing network deployment times, increasing connectivity, and finding better ways to utilise untapped renewable energy sources.

Matt also played a key role in C4L, a company he founded in 2000. C4L was a colocation, connectivity, cloud, and communications provider based in the UK. Under his leadership, C4L became one of the fastest-growing ISPs in the UK, winning numerous awards, including the Times Tech Track 100 and Deloitte EMEA Fast 500. C4L provided access to over 100 UK data centres and more than 300 globally. The company was responsible for approximately 1% of the UK’s internet infrastructure, and its high-capacity, 1-100Gb fibre-optic network was one of the largest private networks in the country. In 2016, C4L was acquired by CORETX, where Matt took on the role of Chief Technical Officer, overseeing the company’s technology strategy and M&A activities.
 

Matt’s career began in the early 1990s with the founding of MAP Computing, a business selling software and computers through industry magazines and media. After moving on from MAP Computing, Matt founded Gold Standard Computing, a computer distribution business, while still at university. In the late 1990s, Matt joined Revenue Makers, an early player in affiliate marketing, where he grew the user base by 1000% in just one year. His success at Revenue Makers led to a move to UK Affiliates, where he served as Business Development Director and helped grow the company’s market presence.
 

In addition to his entrepreneurial ventures, Matt has been deeply involved in mentoring and supporting young entrepreneurs. He has served as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Bournemouth University since 2015, where he helps students maximise their entrepreneurial potential. He is also an advisor at Barclays Eagle Lab, where he mentors entrepreneurs with their ideas.
