Sorg attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Economics in 2007. He later pursued a Master's degree in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics at the University of Washington, completing it in 2012. During his time at university, Sorg showed an early interest in research, assisting professors in the areas of economic development and big data techniques.
His career began as a Data Scientist at Riot Games, where he worked for four years from 2014 to 2018. At Riot Games, Sorg was part of a team that developed machine learning models for applications in gaming, such as computer vision classifiers, matchmaking systems, and time series prediction. His work contributed to the company’s strategic reports and data visualisation projects, which helped optimise player experiences and game performance.
In 2017, Sorg co-founded Korro Inc., where he led the development of the first video game NFT marketplace on Ethereum. This innovative platform integrated multiple payment methods, allowing users to trade video game assets globally. This work placed Sorg at the forefront of the blockchain and gaming sectors.
In 2018, Sorg co-founded Concha Labs, a company focused on creating hearing health solutions. He served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and co-authored patents related to hearing diagnostics.
