Melinta Therapeutics was founded in 2013 by the healthcare investment firm, Nimbus Management. The company was originally focused on developing novel antibiotics for treatment-resistant bacterial infections. In 2014, the company completed its first round of funding, raising $60 million in private equity and venture capital to support the development of its products. Since then, Melinta has continued to expand its product portfolio and commercialize its antibiotics in the United States and abroad.
