Metacurio is a next-generation creative studio leading brands and talent into the metaverse, unleashing the power of web3 by building creative worlds, NFT drops and digital asset development, epic activations, and true community. Established in 2021, Metacurio was founded by Blocksquared founder Jeff Hood and former STX Entertainment president Sophie Watts.
Their inaugural project featured an epic collaboration between Mike Tyson and Cory Van Lew. By laying a foundation for Tyson in the NFT landscape they were able to build a long-term ecosystem for “the Baddest Man on the Planet”. This initial drop perfectly demonstrated why they value their principles of true collaboration, building for the future, and thinking strategically. Two months after Tyson’s initial drop with Metacurio, the company deployed a stealth drop with no pre-drop marketing called Lazer Eyez… which sold out in 23 minutes. The stealth drop coincided with an IRL activation – a giant-sized billboard that went live on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at the time of sale. Their Reactor Motors drop shows what is possible when a new universe emphasizes strong community and exciting content. Metacurio partnered with Reactor Motors to develop a backstory and artistic design for our metaverse racing game. Reactor Motors was the second ever on-platform mint in OpenSea history. The drop featured 8,888 unique reactor NFTs which will upgrade into unique Reactor vehicles this February. NFT holders will be able to race their unique vehicles on the reactor raceway: a state of the art metaverse racing game.
