Biography

Mette Lykke is a successful Danish businesswoman and the founder of TooGoodToGo, a leading sustainability platform in Europe. With around 30,000 partner businesses in the food industry, including supermarkets, restaurants, bakeries, and hotels, TooGoodToGo aims to tackle food waste by providing a platform for businesses to sell their surplus food at discounted prices. Under Mette's leadership, the company has grown to become one of the biggest names in the sustainability space, with a team of over 400 talented "Waste Warriors" working towards the company's mission.

Prior to founding TooGoodToGo, Mette co-founded Endomondo, a social fitness community based on free real-time GPS tracking of running. Launched in 2007, she developed the company for almost a decade, building a loyal user base and expanding the app's features. Endomondo's success caught the attention of American athleticwear brand Under Armour, which acquired the company in 2015 for $85 million. Mette continued to serve as CEO of Endomondo until 2017, helping the company to integrate into Under Armour's ecosystem.

Mette's success in building high-value businesses has not come overnight, and she advises patience to aspiring entrepreneurs. She believes that the journey to building a successful start-up takes time and dedication, and that overnight success stories are rare. Mette's approach to business has been shaped by her experiences in the tech industry, where she has honed her skills in leadership, team-building, and strategic planning.

Throughout her career, Mette has been recognized for her leadership and entrepreneurial achievements. She was named Danish Entrepreneur of the Year in 2017 and was awarded the Nordic Startup Award for Best Founder in Denmark in 2018.
