Miramar Hotel and Investment Company was established in 1920, initially as a small trading firm. The founders, who are of Portuguese and Macanese origins, early recognized the potential of Far East markets and expanded the trading business to several countries. In the early 1940s, they founded the Miramar Club Hotel in Hong Kong, which became a landmark in the city and became known as the Miramar Hotel. The company were listed at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 1969 and has since become a leading player in the hospitality sector.
