History

Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation was established in 1993 by merging the Mitsubishi Petrochemical Company and the Mitsubishi Rayon Company. Mitsubishi Chemical was then formed into MCHC in 1997 as a result of further integration of subsidiary businesses. It began its global expansion in 2000 with the acquisition of American Polymer Corporation.
