Muscat Gases company was incorporated in 1979 as a joint venture between a group of local shareholders and Linde AG of Germany. In 1997, the company became a public company listed on the Muscat Stock Market. In 2011, the local shareholders increased their stake in the company to 68.7%, thus making it an Omani Company.
