The Oriental Group began in 1972, when brothers Ammar and Ali Farooqui, leveraging their existing connections to the Pakistani air force, began importing electronics for resale. After gradually building up the business, in 1983 the company entered into the manufacturing business, making power supplies and related electrical products. In 2001, Orient started to introduce its own branded appliances and later, it started to export products to other markets in the Middle East, Africa and Europe.
