Peugeot SA is a French car manufacturer, part of Groupe PS Peugeot S.A. is operates in three segments: the Automotive Division, covering the design, manufacture and sale of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles under the Peugeot, Citroen and DS brands; the Automotive Equipment Division, corresponding to the Faurecia Group consisting of interior systems, automotive seating, automotive exteriors and emissions control technologies, and the Finance Division, corresponding to the Banque PSA Finance Group (BPF), which provides retail financing to customers of the Peugeot, Citroen and DS brands, and wholesale financing to the brands' dealer networks.

2001: Ford opens factory in Camaçari, BA

2004:  AGCO purchases Valtra, which was formerly Valmet 2004: GM announces plans to cut 12,000 jobs in Europe, of which about 6,000 are at Opel.

2010: March 2, 2010: GM says it will triple its funding of Opel to 1.9 billion euros in equity and loans and cuts its request for state aid. 2010 ? CNH opens factory in Sorocaba, SP

2011:  DAF Trucks establishes branches in Brazil (DAF Caminhões)

2012: In March 2012, General Motors purchased a 7% share in Peugeot for 320 million euros as part of a cooperation aimed at finding savings through joint purchasing and product development. Feb 2012: GM takes a 7 percent stake in Peugeot after the companies announce an alliance, promising eventual savings of $1 billion each. Oct 31, 2012: GM Europe outlines a target to achieve break-even EBIT-adjusted results by mid-decade through a focus on growth and cost efficiencies.

2013: Karl-Thomas Neumann appointed chairman of the board of Adam Opel AG and president, Europe. In October 2013, Peugeot closed their production plant at Aulnay-sous-Bois as part of a restructuring plan to reduce overcapacity in the face of a shrinking domestic market. In December 2013, GM sold its entire Peugeot stake, taking a loss of about 70 million euros. By December 2013, Chinese investors were rumored to be potential investors. 2013 ? DAF Caminhões inaugurates manufacturing plant in Ponta Grossa, PR ? CNH Industrial is created after a merger between Fiat Industrial and CNH Global Oct 2013: Peugeot-maker PSA and GM say they are scaling back their alliance.

2014: In February 2014, the Peugeot family agreed to give up control of the company by reducing its holdings from 25% to 14%. As part of this agreement, Dongfeng Motors and the French government were each to buy 14% stakes in the company, creating three partners with equal voting rights. 2014? BMW opens manufacturing plant in Araquari, SP 6, 2014 with closure costs of at least $866 million. Feb 19, 2014: The French state and China’s Dongfeng each take 14 percent stakes in PSA in a 3 billion euro capital increase.

2015: In January 2015, Indian multinational automotive giant Mahindra & Mahindra purchased a major stake of 51% of Peugeot Motocycles for a price of 28 million euro. June 9, 2015: GM CEO Mary Barra says Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV CEO Sergio Marchionne sent an email proposing a potential merger, and that GM’s board gave “strong support” to her strategy of going it alone. 2015 ? Agrale inaugurates chassis manufacturing plant in São Mateus, SP ? FCA inaugurates Jeep assembly plant in Goiana, PE and releases the Jeep Renegade

2016: GM buys Cruise Automation, a San Francisco self-driving vehicle startup. 2016 ? Jaguar Land Rover opens manufacturing plant in Itatiaia, RJ ? Mercedes-Benz opens a plant in Campinas, SP ? The 29th annual São Paulo International Motor show takes place at the São Paulo Expo for the first time Jan 13, 2016: GM raises its profit outlook and says it will return cash to shareholders by raising its stock buyback programme by 80 percent to $9 billion and increasing its dividend by 6 percent. Jan 21, 2016: GM says it is creating a car-sharing brand, Maven, to expand the market for vehicles consumers borrow rather than own.

2017: GM and PSA say GM’s Opel/Vauxhall subsidiary and GM Financial’s European operations will join the PSA Group in a transaction valuing these activities at 1.3 billion euros and 0.9 billion euros, respectively. 2019: Honda opens manufacturing plant in Itirapina, SP

2021: On 16 January 2021, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (FCA) and Groupe PSA completed a 50/50 merger that created a new holding company called Stellantis N.V.
