As of December 31, 2021, it had a total proved plus probable reserves of 904 million barrels of oil equivalent. The company was formerly known as Peyto Energy Trust and changed its name to Peyto Exploration & Development Corp. in January 2011. Peyto Exploration & Development Corp. was founded in 1998 and is headquartered in Calgary, Canada.

History

Peyto was established in 1998 and incorporated on August 18, 2000 with a core group of Alberta-based natural gas producers. The Peyto team built, with their expertise and financial clout, a successful gas exploitation business and are currently one of Canada’s largest natural gas producers.
