PowerCell AB was formed in November 2008 as a research and development company, funded initially by the founders, the Board and private investors. In the summer of 2009 it succeeded in obtaining venture capital from Terma Invest and non-equity from the Swedish Government. In December 2009 PowerCell liquidated, transferred all assets and shifted its operations to PowerCell Sweden AB founded by the same Board and owners.
