Preferred Apartment Communities, Inc. was founded in 2009 and is based in Atlanta, Georgia. It was formed primarily to acquire, develop, and operate income-producing multifamily properties. The company went public in December 2012 and is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “APTS.” It is currently managed by Greystone Management & Development Corporation and is led by CEO Daniel T. Staton.
