QuantumScape was founded by Jared Schatz, Dean Mirha & Stefan Vorkopp, in October 2010. In October 2014 they closed their Series A funding round led by Khosla Ventures & A123 Systems. In March 2016 they closed Series B funding round led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Later the same year, they closed Series C funding round led by Volkswagen Group and Bill Gates’s investment arm, Breakthrough Energy Ventures.
