Regis Corporation was established in 1922 as a single store in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. Founded by Paul and Florence Kunin, the original store was known as Kunin Beauty Products Company and specialized in hair care products. In the 1940s and 50s, the business grew to include more than 20 stores in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. In 1962, the Kunin familys second generation of leaders established the company as Regis Corporation.
