For three generations of Italian designers, LVMH-owned Repossi creates timeless avant-garde jewellery that combines artistic and architectural inspiration with the savoir-faire of Place Vendôme.
Jewellery house Repossi has carried on a family tradition of distinctive creativity for three generations. This family jewelry tradition dates back to the origins of the Maison in Turin in 1957- where Constantino Repossi- after studying industrial design and developing a pronounced taste for Art Deco- opened his first boutique.
From Turin to Monaco in 1978, then to Place Vendôme- Paris in 1986 where Alberto Repossi- son of the founder- took over the reins, the high jewellery brand continued its growth trajectory. Since 2007 his daughter Gaia Repossi- appointed Artistic Director of the House at the age of twenty one- has been transforming the jewellery collections with her creative vision. "Our workshops do things the same way they did a hundred years ago- but with new technologies- a perfect combination of the old and new worlds, states Gaia Repossi on the luxury brand's official website.
In November 2015 a partnership with luxury conglomerate LVMH was announced through which LVMH acquired a share in the fine jewellery house. The French luxury group led by Bernard Arnault first claimed a minority stake in the brand with the aim to "support its development" and became the company's majority shareholder shortly. The following year Repossi's Paris flagship store- located on historical Place Vendôme- re-opened after avant-garde architect Rem Koolhaas and his OMA practice redesigned it.
The LVMH-acquired luxury jewellery house envisions creating fine jewellery that combines ancient tradition with a modern design aesthetic.
