Spirit Realty Capital (NYSE: SRC) is a publicly traded real estate investment trust, originally founded by Thomas Spiegel in 1997. In 1999, SRC went public, and began to acquire properties. By 2010, SRC had sold nearly all its properties and concentrated on the triple-net lease format. It has since re-acquired its initial portfolio, and United Realty Finance Group, a portfolio of over 400 single-tenant net-leased properties. Today, SRC manages and owns over 5,000 properties, of which 75% are leased to investment-grade tenants.
