History

The Stagecoach Group was founded in 1980 by current chairman Brian Souter and his sister Ann Gloag. It grew quickly, with a combination of organic growth and acquisitions of smaller bus and coach companies. The company currently operates more than 8,000 buses and coaches in North America, Europe and the Pacific Rim.
