Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited was incorporated in 2005 and is based in Chennai, India.
History

Star Health and Allied Insurance Company was established in 2006, becoming India’s first standalone health insurer. The company was launched as a joint venture between the Oman Insurance Company, the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, the Apollo Hospitals Group and companies within the Inyan Group. The insurer was approved as a health insurance business unit by the IRDAI in 2006, and received its license in 2007.
