Tata Communications is a global digital infrastructure provider connecting businesses, governments and consumers across the digital ecosystem with advanced digital technologies. Part of the $114 billion Tata Group, Tata Communications has its origins in the Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd. (TCIL) which was founded in 1986.

History

Tata Communications was established as Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (VSNL) in 1986. VSNL was India’s first global telecom operator. In 2002, VSNL was acquired by the Tata Group and later rebranded to Tata Communications in 2008. In 2020, Tata Communications became a publicly listed company on the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange.
