Tearlach Resources

Founded in 1965 by James B. Tearlach, the company’s first focus was oil and gas exploration in the Texas Panhandle and Permian Basin. In the early years, the company was primarily a drill and produce operation but eventually grew to include a complementary drilling, service and production business. In 1982 Tearlach Resources expanded its operations into the Gulf of Mexico and established its first offshore platform, Osprey-1. Since then, the company has grown to 21 rigs and 8 active offshore projects, making them one of the largest exploration and production companies in the Gulf region.
