History

In 1899, Henry Timken founded the Timken Roller Bearing Axle Company in St. Louis, Missouri, for the purpose of manufacturing bearings for wagons, buggies and other forms of wheeled transportation common in the day. By 1914, Henry’s focus on engineering excellence had set the company apart from the competition. Since its founding, the company’s enterprising spirit, capable team and sound engineering have all driven Timken to continuously improve the reliability and efficiency of global machinery and equipment to move the world forward.
