History

TomoTherapy™ was founded in Madison, Wisconsin in 1997, originally under the name Accuray Incorporated. The company’s first product, the TomoTherapy™ Hi·Art System was the first ever radiation oncology machine that provided both intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) in one comprehensive unit when it was released in 2005.
