Village Super Market, Inc. was founded in 1937 by the Borinstein brothers. The brothers opened their first store in Newark, New Jersey and quickly expanded to multiple locations over the ensuing years. The company went public in 1974 and has continued to grow and evolve. It currently operates 33 ShopRite stores across four states.
