Vinacomin Power Holding, formerly known as Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited, was established on 10 August 1996 with the purpose of becoming one of the leading diversified energy companies in Vietnam and the region.
History
Vinacomin Power Holding's history can be traced back to the early 20th century and the establishment of the French colonial company La Compagnie des Charbonnages du Tonkin. Vinacomin Power Holding was established through the restructuring of Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Holding Corporation (Vinacomin) in 1996. Vinacomin Power Holding has since then grown and expanded to become the leading energy provider in Vietnam.
