Vital Farms was founded in 2007 by Matt O’Hayer with the mission to improve the welfare of animals by providing pasture-raised eggs on a large scale. Vital Farms was the first egg producer to gain American Humane Certified, Non-GMO Project Verified, and Humane Farm Animal Care certification. They became the largest U.S. producer of humanely raised eggs, producing eggs from more than 3,500 family farms.
