She is the Founder and CEO of Crystal Tribe Investments, a platform dedicated to fostering economic growth and innovation across Africa, and Co-founder and Director of La Pearl Investment Africa. Dr. Kahara’s focus is on sustainable investment strategies that create new opportunities for businesses across the continent.
Dr. Kahara has over a decade of experience at the United Nations (UN), where she held various senior positions in areas such as youth economic development, criminal justice reform, and urban safety governance. Notably, she served as the first Kenya Youth Representative to the UN, representing the country in global meetings and collaborating with heads of state. During her time at the UN, she pioneered the UN Inter-agency Joint Programme on Youth and established several initiatives, including the Prisons Entrepreneurship and Reintegration Program in Kenya and the Africa Young Parliamentarians Network.
In recognition of her work, Dr. Kahara has received numerous prestigious awards, including the United Nations Award for South-South Cooperation, the Crans Montana New Leader Award, and the Desmond Tutu Leadership Award. She holds an Honorary Doctorate of Humanities and serves on multiple international boards, further showcasing her leadership and dedication to positive social change.

Dr. Wambui Kahara (H.C) was born in Kenya, where she developed a strong interest in social justice, economic development, and youth empowerment from a young age. She went on to pursue a degree in International Relations and Affairs at the United States International University – Africa, where she earned both her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in International Relations and Affairs, completing her studies in 2016. These qualifications set the foundation for her impactful career in both public and private sectors.
In 2014, Dr. Kahara was appointed by the Government of Kenya as the country's first Youth Representative to the United Nations. During her tenure, which lasted until 2017, she represented Kenya at the UN General Assembly and other high-level global forums, focusing on youth issues. She played an instrumental role in advancing the youth agenda and participated in shaping policies that would benefit young people in Kenya and globally. Her work included coordinating the implementation of the World Programme of Action for Youth at the national level and contributing to the development of policies aimed at youth economic empowerment.
In 2017, Dr. Kahara transitioned into the role of Regional Coordinator for Urban Safety Governance at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). Over the next four years, she led projects focused on improving urban safety and governance, overseeing multiple initiatives across Africa. She was responsible for developing project plans, ensuring that projects adhered to UN guidelines, and managing risk. Dr. Kahara played a significant role in fostering partnerships and ensuring that youth had an active role in shaping urban safety policies.
In 2022, Dr. Kahara took a significant step in her career by founding Crystal Tribe Investments, where she now serves as CEO. The platform aims to drive sustainable and inclusive economic growth across Africa by connecting global investors with promising projects and entrepreneurs. Under her leadership, Crystal Tribe Investments has facilitated high-value investments and fostered collaboration between international companies and local African businesses.
In addition to her work with Crystal Tribe, Dr. Kahara co-founded La Pearl Investment Africa, a company that focuses on creating opportunities in Africa's rapidly growing markets.
