Woxsen University, established in 2014 as Woxsen School of Business, is a private university located in Telangana, India. It operates under the Pinakin Educational Trust and has a 200-acre residential campus in Sadashivpet, approximately 70 kilometres from Hyderabad. The university comprises seven constituent schools: the School of Business, School of Technology, School of Arts & Design, School of Architecture & Planning, School of Liberal Arts & Humanities, School of Law, and School of Sciences. These schools offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes across various disciplines.

 

The university follows a research-oriented and experiential learning approach. It has established several Centres of Excellence and research initiatives in fields such as artificial intelligence, business management, and engineering. The Woxsen Case Study Centre collaborates with academic institutions like Harvard Business Publishing and Ivey Publishing to develop case studies. The university also runs social impact projects, including "Project Aspiration" and the "Woxsen-Monmouth Elevate Program," to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

 

Woxsen University maintains international collaborations with over 170 universities in more than 50 countries, facilitating student exchange programmes, faculty development, and research initiatives. It has earned multiple accreditations, including EFMD accreditation for its MBA programme, and is affiliated with global institutions such as AACSB, AMBA, and the Global Business School Network (GBSN).

 

The university has received numerous rankings and recognitions. The Business World 2024 rankings place Woxsen’s School of Business at 11th among top private business schools in India. It ranks 6th in the Asia Pacific region according to Bloomberg’s 2024–25 rankings and is featured in QS Business Masters World Rankings 2025. It also holds rankings in engineering, design, and law education.

 

The campus includes academic, residential, and recreational facilities, including a Bloomberg Finance Lab, an artificial intelligence research centre, and a central library. The sports infrastructure includes an indoor sports complex, an ICC-standard cricket ground, and multiple courts for basketball, tennis, and football.

History

Woxsen University was established in 2014 as Woxsen School of Business in Hyderabad, Telangana. It was founded with the objective of offering management education through a practice-oriented approach. The institution initially offered the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and the Post Graduate Programme for Experienced Professionals (PGPXP). In the same year, it received accreditation from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and launched the Woxsen Trade Tower, an incubation centre designed to support student entrepreneurship.

 

In 2015, the institution expanded its focus to executive education by launching the Centre for Executive Education and Consulting (CEEC). The centre brought in faculty from international institutions such as Harvard, Oxford, Wharton, and Purdue. It also developed partnerships with Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and Mannheim Business School, Germany, for global immersion programmes.

 

In 2016, Woxsen broadened its academic offerings by establishing the Woxsen School of Arts & Design, introducing a four-year Bachelor of Design (B.Des) degree. During this period, the institution gained membership in the Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA).

 

By 2017, Woxsen had received membership in two of the largest global accreditation bodies for business education: the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Association of MBAs (AMBA). The following years saw further diversification, with the introduction of a PGDM programme in Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning in 2019. The same year, Woxsen received accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and ranked among India’s top business schools in various national rankings. Additionally, the university established an Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Lab and launched the Woxsen School of Architecture & Planning.

 

In 2020, Woxsen School of Business transitioned into Woxsen University, becoming one of the first private universities in Telangana. The newly established university introduced undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across multiple disciplines, including business, technology, design, architecture, and law. It also developed partnerships with international institutions for student exchange and research collaborations.

 

Woxsen continued to gain recognition in various rankings, securing a position among India’s top private universities and business schools. In 2021, it launched the Bloomberg Finance Lab and India’s largest learning centre, the Vithal Gandhi Centre. The university also inaugurated an international-standard sports complex and acquired international memberships with organisations such as the Responsible Research in Business and Management (RRBM) and the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative (GRLI).

 

In 2022, Woxsen strengthened its research output by launching multiple Centres of Excellence and expanding its global partnerships to over 90 universities. It introduced fellowship and chair professorships to support academic research. The university also achieved recognition in the QS Business Masters World Rankings for its MBA programme and continued to be featured in national and international rankings.

 

By 2023, Woxsen had exceeded 120 global partner universities. It inaugurated an ICC-standard cricket ground and established new international memberships, including the Business Graduates Association (BGA). The university received accreditation from EFMD for its MBA programme, placing it among the top global business schools. It also introduced initiatives such as the Student’s Choice Award and expanded its sports infrastructure with the inauguration of an indoor stadium by badminton champion P.V. Sindhu.

 

In 2024, Woxsen University continued to gain prominence in national and international rankings. It secured the 6th position in the Bloomberg Business School Rankings for the Asia-Pacific region and was ranked among the top business schools in India. The university was also selected as a PRME champion, recognising its commitment to responsible management education.

 

Woxsen expanded its academic and research offerings by launching the Research and Applied Learning Centre of Excellence (R.A.C.E), focused on sports excellence. It received the prestigious 3-Palme Recognition from Eduniversal for its School of Business. In 2025, Woxsen was ranked 1st among private universities in India by the Times B-School Ranking and continued to be featured in global rankings for its MBA programmes.

The School of Technology provides Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degrees in different specialisations. 

 

The School of Architecture & Planning offers a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch). The School of Arts & Design has a Bachelor of Design (B.Des) (Hons.) in multiple fields. The School of Liberal Arts & Humanities provides Bachelor of Arts (BA) (Hons.) degrees. The School of Law offers integrated legal programmes, including Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Laws (BA LLB) (Hons.) and Bachelor of Business Administration + Bachelor of Laws (BBA LLB) (Hons.). Job integration rate

Woxsen University has achieved a high job integration rate across its academic programmes, with strong placement outcomes for students in business, technology, and design. The university maintains close industry collaborations, ensuring that graduates secure employment across diverse sectors.

 

For the MBA batch of 2022-24, Woxsen University recorded 100% placements. The highest salary package offered during MBA placements in 2024 was INR 19 LPA. The average package stood at INR 9.04 LPA, while the median package was INR 8.50 LPA. The IT/ITES sector emerged as the top recruiter, with companies such as SAP, Siemens, Deloitte, and Swiggy among the hiring organisations.

 

The BTech batch of 2020-24 also concluded its placement cycle with strong results. The highest package offered to BTech students was INR 24 LPA, while the average package stood at INR 8.60 LPA.

 

In addition to business and technology, the university has seen significant placement success in design and management programmes. The BDes programme recorded a 97% placement rate, with the highest salary package reaching INR 13 LPA. The BBA (Hons) batch achieved 100% placements, with a highest package of INR 9 LPA.
