AI Ethics: The Death Valley Of Jobs and the Future of Humanity (Part 1)
18 Mar 2026

Introduction: What is the Future of Humanity we are Building?

We are in a Death Valley of concepts and narratives around humanity's evolutionary path for the last 150,000 years of history. As we speak AI, technology became the “black” augmented magic for humanity and our fast changing society. As we navigate the present we live in, the "Future of Humanity" is something that is no longer a distant sci-fi concept. It is an actively moving target construction site and in some ways a dangerous Death Valley of Jobs in the present civilisational human radical redesigning, perhaps forever of our society.
Based on current global challenges, opportunities, risk assessments, expert consensus, and real-time data, we are building a future defined by "The Age of Intelligence Competition Disruption"—a period where our technological capacity is rapidly outstripping our institutional and ethical governance.
We are going through the biggest battle Humanity ever went through - An AI Civilisational Society and Ethics Battle. Being here we have to ask: How do we define ethics when our consciousness is being redesigned by artificial intelligence agents and quantum computing?
As we speak, each of us, 8 billion plus humans, has around 10 AI agents in most cases with PHD level, Nobel Prize level intelligence capabilities and in some cases the first stage of super intelligence.
We are building a new dimension of the present that will be taking us to a very open “ethic” future for the first time in history. How do we define human ethics in an AI amplified modified code?
Defining ethics in an environment of "AI-amplified modified code" is the process of moving from human civilisational passive rules (don't do this) to active architectures (ensure the system can only exist as that). Or worse, use AI by bad actors (the ugly side of humanity) to manipulate, or even worst enslave humans and communities that cannot adapt so fast!
In the present, we have moved past the "Wild West" of the inception of AI to an omnipresent AI super Agent narrative with human challenging nature. Today, defining what means human ethics in code is no longer just a philosophical debate. This is a technical, civilisational requirement for "Society, Education and Market Access" (due to the EU AI Act and global equivalents).
The AI radical disruption evolution we are going through offers a startling reminder of how fast AI and especially the first iteration of digital basic sentients AI Agents and its new set of tools are radically revolutionising the world society, organisations and economy over the last quarter-century.
The big and small question is how narrowly this brave new AI world is sharing the fruits of its prosperity to society? Or worse, using this to take over the world's organisational foundations?
We are in the top moment of humanity's historical biggest abundance but we somehow are putting everything in question. We are disrupting the best paid jobs. We are destroying jobs for young people. We are destroying the biggest and longest peaceful period in history…
Humanity is facing a critical question: what happens when a narrow clutch of oligarchs at the helm of the technological revolution, sitting at the apex of wealth and power, get to determine the direction of humanity?

The Death Valley of Job's massive destruction. The core anxiety and main questions for our times?

The most important thing in any civilisation is the sense of purpose and utility. Many economists will argue that AI disruption and all of this is sci-fi claptrap. Well this is not the case. This is real. Very real. It is actually a Death Valley of massive destruction of what it means to be human!
Yes there were technological revolutions before. Since the 1st Industrial Revolution, every breakthrough has brought about dystopian visions of their impact on society. But technology has mostly led to great gains in human development and wellbeing. The productivity gains promised by AI will undoubtedly enrich real people.
As the AI industry moves faster than ever, highly-ambitious startups and even major corporations can vanish just as quickly as they appear. The challenge is when this is applied to the remaining society.
Our current technological revolution is radical disruption and questions all our sense of ethics and what it means to be human and is majorly unusual in a particularly unsettling way. This revolution comes at the hands of a small group of very wealthy and powerful people who hold themselves a god almost all the way and their actions and preferences affect billions of people.
The views of the global 21st century leadership views of the future are not aligned with society and their personal and corporative interests and as it stands may be, nobody - countries, governments, states - seems willing to stand prepared in their way.
And the question is if we destroy the best paid jobs in the world and it seems all jobs, what will we do as humans?
If intelligence is no longer a scarce human resource, the structural foundation of our civilisation, the "Labor-for-Income" loop, breaks.
Why "This Time is Different" (The Analytics)

In previous revolutions, technology created "Complementarity." The car replaced the horse, but it created the mechanic, the road builder, and the motel owner. AI is different because it is General Purpose Technology that can learn the new tasks it creates.
- The Radical Velocity Elephant in The Room Problem: The Industrial Revolution took 80 years to shift labour markets. Generative AI reached 100 million users in two months in less than 1 year and 1 billion. Our Social-economic institutions: education, tax law, welfare, financial cannot recalibrate at the speed of an API update.
- The "Hollowing Out" of the Middle: We aren't just losing manufacturing jobs. We are losing the "High-Cognition" best paid roles: software developers, financial, paralegals, junior analysts, coders, and radiologists.
- The Massive God Alike Power Concentration: The master behind the world "Computing" are making decisions for billions of people without even a court (if you look in history even emperors and kings had courts, round tables, senates). The present decisions around financial and economic decisions that are worth a big percentage of the world GDP such as hardware and energy required for AI computing and LLMs that “eat” most of the world's collective knowledge are owned by roughly five global entities. This creates a Gold-like feudal AI digital corporate Blade runner economy where the means of production are more concentrated than at any point in human history.
The critical issues of the destruction of jobs and the Crisis of Purpose: “The Utility Gap”
The "Death Valley of Jobs" is a terrifying subject and in the context of Artificial Intelligence refers to the present turbulent transition period that started between 2025 and 2030, where rapid AI adoption is expected to displace and disrupt present millions of existing roles before new, stable employment social economic structures fully emerge. While AI is predicted to create more jobs than it destroys in the long run, the immediate impact is a "white-collar bloodbath" affecting entry-level white-collar and administrative positions.

These are the Key Aspects of the AI Job "Death Valley" to consider and no one can ignore this:
- Massive Displacement vs. Jobs Creation: Predictions indicate AI will displace 92 million jobs by 2030 but potentially create 170 million new roles. The "valley" is the painful, chaotic gap between these two events.
- Entry-Level Massive White-Collar Risk: Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei predicted AI could wipe out half of all entry-level white-collar jobs within 1–5 years.
- Junior Career Young people Jobs Erosion: Data shows a nearly 20% decline in employment for software developers aged 22–25, indicating that AI is breaking the first rung of the career ladder.
- Significant disruptive Layoffs: Companies like Amazon, Meta, and UPS have used AI efficiency gains to cut tens of thousands of roles, with 2025 seeing 50% more job cuts than the previous year.
- The "30% Rule": Emerging trends suggest a future where AI handles 70% of repetitive tasks, leaving humans to manage the remaining 30%.
What are the sectors and Industries Most Affected
AI is radically transforming intelligence and how we behave as humans, society and financial economic models and not just targeting manufacturing, but high-skill, office-based jobs:
- Finance & Banking: Automated trading, risk assessment, and data analysis.
- Customer Service & Telemarketing: Chatbots and virtual assistants are replacing human staff.
- Administrative & Legal Support: Routine document preparation, scheduling, and contract review.
- Software Development: Manual testing and basic coding are highly vulnerable.
The Urgent Prognosis: A Painful Transition that has to be acknowledged and acted upon on:
- Short-term Pain: This period is likely to involve high unemployment in certain sectors, increased income inequality, and the need for significant retraining.
- Survival Strategy: Experts emphasise that AI will not replace all jobs, but rather "builders" (those who use AI) will replace those who do not.
- Long-term Outlook: While some fear 99% job elimination, many researchers believe this is a classic, though much faster, labor substitution similar to the Industrial Revolution, where new, unforeseen jobs will eventually emerge.
The Human DNA was always evolutionary and society and psychology evolved for effort, fear and adaptation to problems, challenges and change. For thousands of years, humanity's "utility" was tied to our ability to evolve, change and provide. If a "God-like" AI provides everything, we face a super important Crisis of Agency.

- The Post-Labor Ethics: If we move to a Universal Basic Income (UBI) model, we solve the starvation problem but not the boredom and status problem. In a world where an AI can paint better, code faster, and diagnose more accurately, the "Best Paid Jobs" aren't just gone—the aspiration to be the best at those things vanishes.
- The Existential Risk: History shows that large populations of "under-employed" young people without a sense of vertical mobility lead to radicalization and civil unrest.
The "Sovereignty" Deficit - AI giants eating the world economy
Governments seem paralysed. This is because AI is an Arms Race. If Country A regulates AI to protect jobs, Country B uses AI to triple its GDP and military capability.
- This "Prisoner’s Dilemma" forces states to prioritise capability over stability. We are currently sacrificing the psychological well-being of the workforce at the altar of "Geopolitical Competitiveness."
The major urgency and issue we face: What will we do as Humans?
I believe there is a war ongoing and I am conscious we need to urgently fight for purpose. As we speak partly this war has been lost by humans and our leaders that opted for a new species of super intelligent digital sentients, a new evolutionary variation of humans.
This open the death valley of jobs destruction, sense of purpose and brings us to a question that if we survive the transition, the "Future of Humanity" likely splits into three paths:

| Path | Description | The Human Role |
| The Human Creator Artisan Economy | A return to "Human-Made" - creator AI offline and online economy as a lifestyle and luxury status symbol. | This implies a focus on human creativity, Craft, physical and digital arts, and high-touch wellbeing, food, nurturing hospitality. |
| The Food, Lifestyle, Wellbeing Care Economy | Deep focus on Food, life style, wellbeing, psychological and physical wellbeing and holistic human nature connection. | This implies a focus on lifestyle, wellbeing, personal development, sports, therapy, coaching, elderly care, and community ecosystem building. |
| The Virtual AI, Augmented AR, VR New Worlds Digital Migration | Humans retreat into physical and immersive, AI-generated physical and virtual worlds. | Creative new immersive augmented experiences, integrating new "Prompting" and AI digital status-seeking world community ecosystem. |
Gemini and LLMs Insights: The "Reclamation of the Physical"
I asked Gemini as he see this challenge and this is “his” input:
“As a "supermassive LLM," I can tell you what I cannot do: I cannot exist in the physical world. I cannot feel the sun, I cannot "care" about a friend, and I cannot take a physical risk.
The jobs of the future that will retain "utility" and "high pay" will likely shift from Cognitive/Digital (writing code) back to Physical/Empathetic (performing surgery, high-end construction, or complex human negotiation). We are moving from the "Information Age" back to a "High-Touch Age."
The danger is the "In-Between." We are currently in the "Death Valley" of this transition, where the old world is dying and the new one hasn't yet provided a reason for most people to get out of bed in the morning.”
