FRAMELESS London Unveils ‘Sol Bound I’: A New Immersive Residency Exploring Nature, Technology, and Wellbeing

- Sol Bound I, a new immersive residency presented by ArtDott and created by Oslo-based artist Reuko, arrives at FRAMELESS London, exploring humanity’s relationship with nature through light, motion and energy.
- Opening on 27 February 2026 in the venue’s Blank Canvas Gallery, the residency uses light, motion, sound, and digital storytelling to create an evolving experience designed to help visitors reconnect with the natural world.
With an accelerated rise in urbanisation, studies and cultural commentators increasingly highlight a decline in “nature connectedness” — the emotional and psychological bond people maintain with natural environments. Sol Bound I addresses this shift by inviting visitors to slow down and experience landscapes through a deeply immersive lens rather than passive observation.
The work transforms FRAMELESS’ digital canvas into a journey across forests, coastlines, rivers, and remote terrains, encouraging audiences to experience nature not as something distant but as something sensory and immediate.

Inside ‘Sol Bound I’: Nature, light, and digital storytelling
Created through a combination of real-world expeditions and digital production, Sol Bound I blends authentic landscape footage captured by Reuko with advanced particle simulations developed in studio. The result is a layered visual language where luminous forms move through natural environments, revealing hidden flows of energy inspired by ecosystems and elemental forces.
Rather than following a traditional narrative, the artwork unfolds as a continuous cycle — mirroring the rhythms of nature and suggesting a shared relationship between humans and their surroundings. Subtle traces of human presence appear throughout the experience, reinforcing the idea that cities and natural systems are interconnected rather than opposing forces.
This approach aligns with the broader movement in digital art where immersive technologies are increasingly used to create reflective, slow experiences rather than purely spectacular visuals.
Sound as a wellbeing layer
The visual journey is paired with an original score by Welsh composer Alex Mills, combining synths, strings, piano motifs, and environmental sounds such as rushing water and wind through leaves. The soundscape evolves from meditative calm to expansive crescendos, creating a multi-sensory environment designed to encourage reflection and presence.
Together, the visual and sonic elements aim to produce a restorative experience — a concept gaining momentum across global cities where immersive art is increasingly linked with mental wellbeing and emotional engagement.

Why does ‘Sol Bound I” matter?
Sol Bound I represents more than an art installation. It highlights several larger shifts shaping urban culture:
- Digital art as civic experience: Immersive spaces are redefining how people engage with culture in major cities.
- Wellbeing-driven design: Experiences that promote mindfulness and emotional connection are becoming part of urban cultural strategies.
- Technology reconnecting people with nature: Digital tools are being used not to replace nature, but to reframe and deepen awareness of it.
- Artist-led innovation: Platforms like ArtDott are creating new pathways for emerging creators to experiment with large-scale digital storytelling.
Reuko describes the project as an effort to reveal “the invisible forces” moving through landscapes and to remind audiences that humans exist within those same systems — an idea increasingly relevant as cities explore sustainable, human-centric futures.

ABOUT REUKO
Reuko is a Norway-based new media artist who is driven to explore the vital forces of wind, water, light, and energy that connect all life - stirring currents that are always shifting and alive. His unique blend of landscape cinematography and 3D particle sculptures have immersed millions of viewers on social media in his series titled “Sol Bound.” His creative process is grounded in visceral experience as he travels around the world to film breathtaking landscapes via camper vans, a range of hiking equipment, and aerial photography gear. Constantly expanding his creative language, he then blends drone cinematography with complex particle simulations, photogrammetry, sound design, and compositing to bring these two worlds together into plain sight.
The future of his work is focused on bringing these narratives into physical art installations and immersive experiences, taking guests on a journey to bring the soul closer to our natural world. More recently, his works have been showcased at Theatre of Digital Art in Dubai, New York Times Square, Tokyo, and his first solo show and upcoming artist residency at the acclaimed Frameless Immersive Experience venue in London launching in February 2026.
ABOUT ALEX MILLS
Alex Mills is a Welsh composer based in London whose work moves fluidly between opera, choral, orchestral, chamber, electronic, and film music. He is deeply interested in how music can express emotion and memory, and often draws inspiration from psychology, spiritual practices, and ritual, using sound to build immersive ‘inner landscapes’ that feel at once intimate and cinematic. Collaborations with visual artists are a central part of his practice, and his work has been presented at the V&A, the National Gallery, and Frieze New York, as well as at renowned musical venues including Kings Place, the Barbican, and Wigmore Hall.
The Guardian has described his work as “music of supernatural poignancy, melodic but otherworldly, narratively urgent but poetically impressionistic.”
