What is HackIndia?

HackIndia is a nationwide hackathon series that aims to create a thriving environment for Web3, AI, and emerging technologies. The event is open to students, professionals, and tech enthusiasts who are passionate about technology and innovation.

HackIndia is organised by C# Corner, a global community with three million software developers. Headquartered in Philadelphia, USA, C# Corner provides a platform for developers to share knowledge and improve their skills. C# Corner hosts monthly events and webinars, creating opportunities for developers to learn, network, and stay updated with the latest trends in technology.

The hackathon offers mentorship, resources, and networking opportunities with top industry leaders, making it an ideal platform for learning, collaboration, and career growth. The duration of HackIndia events has varied over the years. In the 2015 edition, participants were given 24 hours to build projects from scratch using AI, Web3, blockchain, augmented reality, IoT, and cloud computing. However, in the 2024 edition, the grand finale in Delhi was a 36-hour "Ignite Finals" hackathon.

The evolution of HackIndia

HackIndia started as a small hackathon in 2015 at PES University, Bangalore. With 308 participants and sponsorships from GitHub and Pebble, the event was one of India’s first major hackathons. Over the years, it has grown into a national-level event, attracting participants from top universities and industry professionals.

Key Milestones:

  • 2015: First HackIndia at PES University, Bangalore
  • 2022: HackIndia expands into multiple cities across India
  • 2024: Web3 and AI were introduced as the main themes, with 9,000 students participating across 50 universities.
  • 2025: The event aims to engage 25,000 students from 150 universities, featuring multiple hackathons across India, culminating in a grand finale in Delhi.

The 2025 edition builds on this legacy, incorporating cutting-edge Web3 and AI technologies, making it the most advanced edition yet. It is now a nationwide event, featuring hackathons in 20 cities, leading up to the grand finale.
