Advanced Life Sciences Holdings, Inc. was founded in 2002 and was a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of drugs for the treatment of serious infectious diseases. The company’s main product was Amikacin Liposome Inhalation Suspension, an inhaled antibiotic for treating Pseudomonas infections, which was approved in the United States in 2005. In 2006, Advanced Life Sciences Holdings, Inc. acquired the rights to Fanapt, an antipsychotic product developed by another biopharmaceutical company, Vanda Pharmaceuticals.
