Ahmet Erdem

Ahmet Erdem is a prominent figure in the energy industry and currently holds the position of Country Chairman at Shell Turkey. He joined Shell in 1990 and has since had a diverse and successful career within the company.

Throughout his tenure at Shell, Erdem has held various roles in Turkey, the Middle East, and Europe. In 2003, he took on the responsibility of managing Shell's retail business in Turkey. His contributions were instrumental in the establishment of the Shell & Turcas joint venture and the subsequent integration of the businesses in 2006. Erdem continued to serve as the Retail General Manager for the Shell & Turcas joint venture, demonstrating his leadership and strategic capabilities.

In July 2008, Erdem was appointed as the Shell Kenya Country Chairman, overseeing Shell's operations in Kenya. After completing his tenure in Kenya, he returned to Turkey in September 2009 to assume the position of Country Chairman, where he currently serves. Additionally, he holds the role of Chairman of the Board of Shell & Turcas JV, further highlighting his involvement in the joint venture.

In addition to his responsibilities at Shell, Ahmet Erdem is actively involved in various prominent organizations within Turkey's business and energy sectors. He serves as the Chairman of the International Investors Association of Turkey (YASED), which represents the interests of foreign investors in the country. Erdem also holds the position of Chairman of the Oil and Oil Products Industry Assembly at The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), showcasing his influence in the sector. Moreover, he is a Board Member of the Petroleum Industry Association (PETDER) and the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK).

Ahmet Erdem obtained his Civil Engineering degree from Istanbul Technical University. He further expanded his knowledge by studying Engineering Management at Istanbul University, demonstrating his commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Erdem's extensive experience, leadership skills, and involvement in key industry organizations have established him as a respected figure within the energy sector in Turkey.
