History
Alliance Healthcare Services began in 1934 with the founding of the Alliance Pharmacy, which served the pharmaceutical needs of the Veterans Administration. Over the ensuing decades, the Alliance Pharmacy, under the leadership of the founder and his son, both served as pharmacists in the company, became an important partner in the American healthcare system. As the company grew, it began providing a wide range of services, both as an independent provider of prescription drugs and as an integrated partner with a variety of health care providers, from large hospitals to small private practices.
