History
H.L. Hunt founded American Petro-Hunt in 1978 and began operations in the Williston Basin in North Dakota. The company slowly expanded its operations throughout the United States and in 1998 ventured international exploration in Mexico, Iraq and the United Arab Emirates. The company is renowned for having a heavy focus on safety and innovation. In 2008, American Petro-Hunt became the first exploration and production company in the United States to use 3D seismic imaging for finding oil and natural gas.
