History

America's Car-Mart was founded in 1981 in Bentonville, Arkansas, by the local entrepreneur and future Walmart, Inc. co-founder, Sam Walton. Over the next two decades, Car-Mart grew consistent and steady with thirteen stores by 1995. After the year 2000, the company's accounts more than doubled and opened stores across seven states by 2007. Today, America's Car-Mart operates over 135 dealerships in 11 states and continues to grow.
