Biography
Amit Jain was born in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. He completed his early education at St. Xavier’s School in Jaipur. After finishing school, he pursued a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, where he studied from 1995 to 1999.
After graduating, he started his career in 1999 as a Software Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), where he worked for a year. In 2000, he joined Trilogy, a US-based multinational firm, as a Senior Associate. Over the next several years, he took on different roles within the company. From 2004 to 2005, he served as a Delivery Manager, overseeing the execution of various projects. Between 2005 and 2007, he worked as a Product Manager, responsible for managing the development of YourBillBuddy.com in India. His role included designing features, launching marketing strategies, and building business models to attract telecom providers.
In 2007, he left Trilogy and, along with his brother Anurag Jain, co-founded GirnarSoft, a technology-driven company in Jaipur. The goal was to build a large-scale technology business. In 2008, after attending the Auto Expo, he identified a gap in the automotive market regarding the availability of reliable vehicle information. This led to the creation of CarDekho, an online platform designed to help users make informed decisions about buying and selling cars.
