The company was incorporated in 2007 and is headquartered in Sydney, Australia.
History

APA Group was established in 2000 following an industry-wide restructure of the former North West Shelf Gas pipeline owner and operator, Envestra Limited. The superannuation funds of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and AMP Limited acquired the business and have been shareholders ever since. The company has grown from a business with a market capitalisation of $1.84 billion to one of the best performing major infrastructure companies in the world, with a current market capitalisation of $20.2 billion.
