History

ReWalk Robotics founder, Amit Goffer, a professor of electrical engineering and the former CEO of U.S. company A start-up, was inspired to create a robotic exoskeleton after he himself became paralyzed in a 1997 ATV accident. In 2001 his brother Oren Goffer, founded ReWalk Robotics and began working on a prototype which was designed to enable paraplegic individuals to stand and walk. The first unit was successfully tested in 2004.

ReWalk Robotics’ mission is to develop, manufacture, and market wearable robotic exoskeletons for individuals with spinal cord injuries.
