History

Avantor was founded as Mallinckrodt, Inc. in 1867 in Philadelphia to provide high-quality chemicals and biochemicals. Throughout the years, Mallinckrodt, Inc. expanded its businesses across multiple industries and locations. In 2013, the company re-organized and decided to focus on life sciences, advanced technology and applied materials, and changed their name to Avantor Performance Materials in 2016.
