BIP100’s projects include the development of the "Success Secrets" book series, co-authored by members, and ongoing efforts to enhance the personal and professional lives of members through well-being sessions and leadership coaching. Additionally, the community offers business owners the opportunity to collaborate on various initiatives, including projects related to AI, lead generation, and mental health. The membership directory and monthly Zoom sessions provide regular updates and support for members, ensuring they stay ahead in today’s fast-paced business environment.
Penny and Thomas Power’s extensive experience in community building is evident through their previous venture, Ecademy, the first business social network, which connected thousands of business owners worldwide. Their dedication to supporting entrepreneurs and reducing the loneliness often felt in business has led to the creation of BIP100, where members benefit from access to a supportive network of like-minded individuals.
History
BIP100, founded by Thomas and Penny Power, originated from the couple’s long history of supporting business owners and fostering meaningful connections. The foundation for BIP100 was laid with the creation of Ecademy in 1998, which was the world’s first business social network. Ecademy quickly grew to support business owners globally, providing a platform for networking and collaboration. The Powers built this platform around their belief that business success is driven by personal relationships and trust, which became the core of their philosophy.
Ecademy’s success allowed Thomas and Penny to expand their influence within the business community, running over 5000 face-to-face events worldwide. Over time, they recognised that while the digital world was growing rapidly, the personal connections that formed in these events were equally important for business growth and success. In 2019, inspired by the success of their previous ventures, they launched BIP100, a new initiative aimed at providing a more intimate, supportive environment for business owners.
BIP100 was created as a private community where business owners could build relationships based on honesty, integrity, and mutual growth. The community focused on providing not only business development but also personal growth opportunities, through coaching, mastermind sessions, and expert-led workshops. It was designed to be a space where members could share knowledge and resources, learn new skills, and support each other in their business journeys.
One of the key elements of BIP100 was the launch of the “Success Secrets” book series, co-authored by members, which highlighted the expertise and experiences of those within the community. The members also had access to a range of tools such as the BIP100 app, which allowed them to connect and schedule meetings easily. Regular events, both virtual and in-person, played a vital role in ensuring members could connect and build trust. These events included social lunches, professional development sessions, and networking opportunities in London and Surrey, as well as themed Zoom sessions that addressed various aspects of business and personal growth.
BIP100’s ethos was grounded in the idea that business success is not just about professional achievements but also about fostering personal well-being and maintaining meaningful relationships. As part of this commitment, the community provided support in areas such as mental health, leadership coaching, and personal development through sessions led by experts like Hannah Power, Tj Power, and Georgia Farrar.
Over the years, BIP100 has grown steadily, attracting a diverse group of business owners who value the community’s focus on trust, growth, and personal relationships. Today, BIP100 is known for its intimate environment where members, referred to as BIPPers, collaborate on various projects, including those related to AI, lead generation, and mental health. It has become a place where business owners can share their expertise, help one another navigate challenges, and create long-lasting partnerships.
The Powers’ previous experience with Ecademy and their ongoing work with BIP100 has cemented their position as influential figures in the community-building space. Their work continues to help business owners feel less isolated in their entrepreneurial journeys, providing them with a supportive network where they can thrive both personally and professionally.
Currently, BIP100 remains an active and growing community that places emphasis on strong relationships, continuous learning, and mutual success. The organisation is now focusing on expanding its reach through digital tools, expert coaching, and new business development opportunities, ensuring that the BIP100 community remains a valuable resource for business owners worldwide.
Goals and Purpose
BIP100 aims to help its members adapt and thrive in an ever-changing business landscape by providing access to a community of experts, relevant digital skills, and support in achieving business goals. The ultimate goal is for members to feel confident and secure in their business endeavors, and to create a sustainable future for themselves and their businesses.
In addition to providing support for business growth, BIP100 also prioritizes well-being and personal growth. The community encourages members to prioritize self-care and work towards a balanced lifestyle that allows for both personal and professional fulfilment.
Impact
BIP100 has a significant impact on its members by providing an exclusive and supportive community of business owners and experts. The community is limited to 100 members who are carefully selected and interviewed to ensure that the group is right for them and right for all. Members gain access to two online masterclasses a month led by business performance and technology experts who provide additional training and expert advice.
One of the unique features of BIP100 is its emphasis on building intimate relationships with a community of like-minded small business owners who support each other on their journey and keep each other accountable. This support network helps members to build emotional resilience and develop the skills and mindset required to grow both personally and professionally. Members can also share their vulnerabilities and concerns in confidence, thanks to the community's culture of kindness and confidentiality.
BIP100 also offers offline events, such as retreats and meetups, where members can connect in person and continue building relationships. The founders, Penny and Thomas Power, are actively involved in the community, providing networking opportunities, instigating conversations, and contributing to the support and welfare of BIP100. The calibre and quality of BIP100 members mean that each individual chosen is carefully considered, and the founders are gatekeepers of upholding the exclusivity and value of the community.
