
Birchcliff is a publicly traded company that has been producing oil and gas in Western Canada since 1983. The company was established as a private entity in 1959 by entrepreneur Hans Rosvold and was later named Birchcliff Energy Ltd. In 1989, Birchcliff became a publicly traded company when it listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) under the symbol BIR. In 2011, Birchcliff further expanded its access to capital markets by listing on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the symbol BIR.
