Borr Drilling was founded in 2016 by Tor Olav Troeim, a successful entrepreneur in the energy industry. He saw an opportunity to meet the needs of the oil and gas industry by providing modern drilling services and operations in a more cost-effective way. By 2018, Borr Drilling had grown to be one of the leading offshore drilling contractors in the world, with operations in the North Sea, Mediterranean, and the Middle East.
