Campus Crest was founded in 2004 as Campus Crest Development Group, LLC and was one of the pioneers in recognizing the potential of student housing as an asset class. The company quickly became a leader in the industry by developing high-quality student housing communities and creating an excellent living experience for its residents. During its time as a private company, Campus Crest achieved steady growth, eventually becoming the 4th largest student housing provider in the United States. In 2011, Campus Crest became a publicly-traded company and continued to grow, expanding its portfolio of student housing communities and becoming the 3rd largest provider in the U.S.
