Canaan Creative was founded in 2013 by Mr. Jiang Zhang, a former chip designer of China's leading chip manufacturer, ZTE Corporation. Canaan was the first company in the world to produce ASIC chips dedicated to Bitcoin mining. In 2019, Canaan Creative was rebranded as Canaan Inc. to reflect its commitment to developing innovative blockchain and artificial intelligence technologies.
