Cassie Kozyrkov is a technology consultant and the CEO of Kozyr, previously known as Data Scientific. She is renowned for founding the field of Decision Intelligence and serving as Google’s first Chief Decision Scientist. Her work focuses on helping decision-makers unlock organisational potential through artificial intelligence (AI) and data-driven strategies.

At Google, Kozyrkov spent nearly a decade, where she trained over 20,000 employees in data-driven decision-making and implementing Decision Intelligence best practices across 500 projects. She played a key role in Google’s Office of the CTO as Chief Data Scientist and was the youngest member to specialise in AI and data science. She also co-authored Google’s Technical Director training programme. Cassie Kozyrkov was born and raised in South Africa, where she began her educational journey. She earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Mathematical Statistics from Nelson Mandela University, specialising in labour economics, statistical optimisation, and industrial organisation. Later, she pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the University of Chicago, focusing on experimental game theory, cognitive science, and mathematics.

Kozyrkov furthered her education at Duke University, undertaking doctoral studies in Psychology and Neuroscience, focusing on neuroeconomics, Bayesian statistics, and decision-making processes. She later obtained a Master’s degree in Mathematical Statistics from North Carolina State University, specialising in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and statistical computing. While there, she served as a statistics instructor, teaching large courses for students across disciplines.

Her professional career began with a decade of independent consulting in data science for government organisations, private firms, and academic institutions. In 2014, she joined Google as a Statistician and machine learning expert. Over the next three years, she advised more than 200 teams, initiated over 400 projects, and trained 20,000 individuals in rigorous data-driven decision-making.

In 2017, Kozyrkov became the youngest member of Google’s Office of the CTO, serving as Technical Director for AI and data science. She later served as Chief Data Scientist before being appointed Google’s first Chief Decision Scientist in 2018. During her tenure, she founded the field of Decision Intelligence, merging behavioural and data sciences to help organisations adopt AI responsibly.

In 2023, Kozyrkov founded Kozyr, a consultancy offering advisory and speaking services on AI and Decision Intelligence. She also joined the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Innovation Advisory Council, focusing on AI's influence on financial markets and global policy.
